Abstract
A versatile potentiostat system with a digital logic function generator is described. The signal generator features a quartz oscillator which provides pulses of highly constant frequency (1MHz). The pulses of frequency selected by three frequency dividers are counted by three decimal counters and at the same time drive a D/A converter. The potential ramps are thus obtained as successions of small potential steps. All of the most common potential waveforms (triangle, ramp, trapezoid, pulse) are available. A very wide range of potential scan rates (0.01mV.s−1 to 2.104V.s−1) is provided, either in repetitive or in single-shot operation mode. Great accuracy of the rise, hold and fall times are the main advantages of this instrument. Keywords
