Abstract
The topics discussed included: problems of nomenclature for the pathophysiological process; definition and pathophysiology of disseminated intravascular coagulation [DIC]; occurrence and clinical manifestations of DIC in hospital patients; laboratory studies in DIC; fibrinogen derivatives and complexes, and their removal; assessment of the fibrinolytic enzyme system in DIC; biological activities, detection and measurement of FDP [fibrin degradation products]; antithrombin III and thrombocytopenia; and clinical laboratory diagnosis of DIC.This publication has 73 references indexed in Scilit:
