Abstract
Cecal droppings containing numerous T. gallinarum were collected from experimentally infected chicks. The droppings were mixed and equal portions were maintained at room temperature, at 6[degree]C, and at 37[degree]C. Material was examined periodically for the presence of T. gallinarum by microscopic examination of saline smears and by culture technique. Trichomonads were found to survive in droppings kept at room temperature and at 37[degree]C for 24 hours, but not for 48 hours. Organisms were present for 120 hours in the material kept at 6[degree]C.
