Abstract
Two oceanographic sections, made by using the sea sampler, showed inversions of density at about 60 m depth. Earlier sections in the same neighborhood, the edge of the continental shelf, reveal this same feature. The establishment and maintenance of this instability appears to be associated with tidal currents. Keywords
