Abstract
Second harmonic generation in the ferroelectric smectic C phase of i‐amyl‐4‐[4‐decyloxybenzylideneamino]‐cinnamate (DOBAMBC) is studied. Its dependences on temperature and external electric field are measured. A considerable effect of orientational fluctuations is pointed out. Keywords
