Abstract
The Fleury-Marque method of determining polyols, modified to permit the accurate volumetric determination of 1-5 mgm. of inositol, involves the reduction of K iodomercurate in NaOH soln. followed by the determination of the Hg so formed by an iodimetric method. An investigation of the rapid removal of glucose from glucose-inositol solns. by fermentation with washed yeast led to a method of determining the inositol content of such solns.
