Abstract
Techniques for on-line coupling of high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry are reviewed with particular emphasis on those suitable for application to nonvolatile samples. The present status of various techniques is summarized and the strengths and weaknesses of the various approaches are assessed. The potential for future application of recently developed techniques for combined liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry is discussed. Keywords
