Abstract
Desilylation reactions of N-trimethylsilyl-triorganophosphine imines with diorganochlorophosphines do not afford phosphinimino-phosphines, because a second mole of diorganochlorophosphine is immediately added yielding phosphinimino-phosphonium chlorides containing a phosporus-phosphorus bond. These phosphonium chlorides can also be obtained from phosphinimino-phosphines and diorganochlorophosphines. The latter route has been extended to prepare analogous compounds with a phosphorusarsenic bond. All new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, and by IR 1H and 31P NMR spectra.
