Effect of Light Quality, Light Intensity and Temperature on Pigment Accumulation in Barley Seedlings

Abstract
The normal and mutant barley lines responded differently to all 3 environmental factors. Little difference existed between the chlorophyll a to b ratios in either barley line under any of the treatments except in the mutant at low temperature. There was no difference in the efficiency of chlorophyll accumulation by the normal under red and green light. The mutant, however, accumulated most chlorophyll under green light. The optimum condition of temperature and light intensity for both lines was 24.5[degree] and 1,020 ft-c. The mutant was very sensitive to low temperature.
