Abstract
The dynamical diffraction of divergent beams and its application to neutron interferometry are considered. The coherence properties of thermal neutrons are studied, and it is shown that the extreme anisotropy of dynamically diffracted wave packets should be included in the discussion of coherence lengths. Finally, the mechanism leading to a nondispersive phase shift is investigated. Keywords
