Abstract
Transmitted intensities of electrons I B and I N were measured at exact Bragg position and at non-Bragg position, respectively. The ratio I B /I N increased with the thickness at first, had a maximum value (about four) and then decreased with the thickness and approached unity. No anomalous transmission effect was observed for molybdenite films thicker than about 3 µm at 200 kV and 5 µm at 500 kV. This is against the two-beam dynamical theory, where the ratio increases with thicknesses monotonically. The experimental result was analyzed taking into consideration the contribution of electrons which shows no diffraction contrast.
