Regression equations for calculating component biomass of young Abiesamabilis (Dougl.) Forbes

Abstract
Regression equations for estimating dry weight of new, old, and total foliage; new twigs; live and dead branch; stem wood; stem bark; and wood and bark increment and stem diameter increment from stem diameter were calculated from data obtained by destructive analysis of 57 trees in a 23-year-old, naturally established Abiesamabilis stand in the western Washington Cascades. Regressions are presented and compared with similar regressions based on analysis of mature trees.
