Abstract
The essential oil of black walnut peels (Juglans nigra L.) was analyzed by means of GC/FID, GC/MS and GC/FTIR. The peel oil was found to be rich in aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic systems. An odor characterization of the total oil is also given, as well as a correlation of analytical data with olfactoric ones (GC-sniffing technique). Keywords
