Abstract
The inheritance of mature fruit color in Capsicum annuum L. was determined by the interaction of three independent pairs of genes. Eight phenotypes were identified in the F2 segregation of the white by red fruit cross. Two genes were interacting in the crosses white by orange-yellow, and red by lemon-yellow; and only one in the orange-yellow by lemon-yellow cross. All earlier reports of single gene inheritance between red and yellow fruited peppers were the result of the use of an orange-yellow rather than lemon-yellow parental material. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
