Abstract
A simple‐to‐build and inexpensive Langmuir‐probe‐type device for determining the time of arrival of a laser‐produced blast wave is described. Construction details, typical results, and the method of extracting the blast wave energy are presented. The blast wave energy is shown to be easily determined from the nondimensional form of the blast wave R/t versus R curve. Keywords
