Abstract
Spontaneous toxoplasmosis occurred in guinea pigs purchased in the suburbs of the city of Panama, the record of this infection in animals established in this area and without contact with recently imported members of the same sp. The strains isolated showed very low patho-genicity for adult and infant guinea pigs and adult white mice. Simultaneous infection with a Gram-positive diplococcus, however, greatly increased the invasive power and multiplication of the Protozoa. Keywords
