Abstract
Interactive planning is introduced as an approach to planning amidst change that may be useful in clinical practice. The underlying principles and unique characteristics of interactive planning are presented. In addition, clinical studies suggesting its inherent presence in nursing practice are identified. Effective care planning as a developmental process provides nurses with a favorable opportunity to both contribute to individualized patient care and create our own professional futureKeywords
