Abstract
The brighter radio sources and two regions of the Milky Way were surveyed at 440 mc with equipment mounted in the Naval Research Laboratory's 50-foot radio telescope. An attempt was made to keep the technique in this survey as similar as possible to that used at higher frequencies. Flux values are given for nine discrete sources and contour maps are presented for the section of the galactic plane near and north of the galactic center and for the area near the strong radio source, Cygnus A. The results obtained for five of the discrete sources and for two lines across the Milky Way are compared with the results of other observers at other frequencies, in an attempt to study the radio frequency spectra of astronomical objects. Keywords
