Abstract
As the demand for Web-based courses grows, so too will the need for the systematic evaluation of these new learning environments. This article describes four separate evaluation studies of Web-based programs conducted by the author that illustrate the wide range of evaluation methodologies and tools available to the evaluator. The studies also underscore the need to adapt the evaluation methodology to meet the requirements of stakeholders. Through continual experimentation with mixed-method evaluation strategies and new tools, evaluators will be able to contribute significantly to our understanding of learning on the Web.Keywords
