Abstract
Fungal diseases appear to be increasing in incidence, and have a decidedly increased role in causing death. Such infections may be difficult to diagnose clinically since they may simulate other diseases which are more common. A high index of suspicion leading to appropriate diagnostic studies will usually lead to their recognition. Examples are given of cases simulating other diseases in which the diagnosis of a fungal infection was subsequently made.
