Abstract
Consideration of the nature of hypernephroma shows great variety in presentation and speed of growth. Blood supply of these tumors has been shown to be irregular, and considerable numbers of anoxic cells have been shown to be present. This effects the radiosensitivity. The principles of treatment are described and various techniques including the use of wedged fields are evaluated. Known residual disease has been shown to be eradicated in cases and a plea is therefore made for post-operative radiotherapy in hypernephroma.
