Abstract
The causative agent of rickettsialpox was isolated from a house mouse trapped on premises where more than 100 human cases had occurred. Isolation of R. akari was complicated by the presence of choriomeningitis in the mice but was accomplished by the use of choriomeningitis-immunized mice. Isolation of R. akari was confirmed by immunological methods. Keywords
