Abstract
The quantity and chemical composition of essential oils from various wild species of Salvi a are examined. These yield considerably less essential oil than S. officinalis. The content of total ketones present in essential oils, such as thujone, is also lower. The average percentage of total alcohol, such as borneol, in the essential oils is somewhat higher than that of S. officinalis. The presence of individual constituents of definite functional groups was established by thin layer chromatography according to Stahl and by gas liquid chromatography. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
