Abstract
A circuit for the analogue subtraction of the plasma light background in Thomson scattering measurements has been developed. Laboratory tests have shown that the circuit efficiently removes background fluctuations of frequency up to 100 kHz, also providing a small amplification of the scattering signals. Measurements of typical plasma light power spectra in the Eta Beta II RFP experiment have shown that the circuit should greatly reduce the errors due to background fluctuations. Keywords
