Abstract
Isolated duodenitis would appear to be difficult to prove without open operation. Previous reports indicate that abdominal symptoms in hookworm infection may or may not be distinguishable from those of peptic ulcer, and that radiological changes are mainly seen in the jejunum. The current account concerns severely anaemic patients in Dar-es-Salaam. Symptoms were vague and not typical or peptic ulcer, radiological changes were similar to those described for non-ankylostomal duodenitis, and neither feature was closely realted to hookworm load. Duodenal biopsy changes were either mild or absent. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
