Abstract
The use of scanning electron microscopy has made possible a detailed study of foliar surface features such as vestiture, trichome types and cuticular patterns. The species of Broussonetia [B. papyrifera], Morus [M. rubra, M. microphylla, M. alba, M. nigra], and Maclura [M. pomifera] native or naturalized in North America were surveyed and descriptions are given for the vestiture, trichome complement, and cuticular pattern of each species using standard terminology. Illustrations are given for all species. The similarities to Cannabis sativa are indicated. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
