Abstract
The mass dependence of decay constants for vector and pseudoscalar mesons is calculated using both Wilson and staggered-fermion formulations in quenched lattice QCD. For low meson masses, the agreement of the two methods is good and the determination of the vector decay constant agrees with experiment. For pseudoscalar heavy-quark–light-quark systems, we find reasonable agreement between the two fermion formulations as long as Ma≲1, where M is the meson mass. Keywords
