Animal Perception of X-Rays

Abstract
Daphnia magna responds to X-irradiation by swimming downward. Responses of the two eyes of this organism to visible light are reviewed, and a comparison indicates that X-rays stimulate the nauplius eye more than the compound eye. Fluorescence is not found. The effect of X-rays can be duplicated with redox poising compounds that are reducers, while an opposite effect is produced by oxidizers.
