To the Editor.— A peculiar complication as a result of lymphangiographic procedure, hitherto unreported, is presented in this communication. Although the initial manifestation was rather bizarre, the problem fortunately was not serious. Report of a Case.— A premenopausal housewife was in excellent health until asymptomatic nodal enlargement developed on the left side of her neck. Biopsy of one of these nodes showed Hodgkin's disease. The patient underwent extensive studies to ascertain the extent of her disease, including lymphangiography to visualize para-aortic lymph nodes. The lymphangiogram was performed essentially in the manner previously described by Wallace et al.1 Evans blue dye was used for outlining the lymphatic channels. The dye (as supplied by Warner-Chilcott) was composed of 0.5%: aqueous solution, 5 ml of which contained 0.45% anhydrous salt.
