Abstract
A method where the complex conductivity σ(ω)=Re σ(ω)+j Im σ(ω) can be measured conveniently at several selected frequencies within each millimeter wave band using a complex impedance bridge is discussed. A sample is placed at a position where the electric field is maximum in a waveguide. The complex conductivity is obtained from the change in phase and attenuation in the bridge system used in the theory of dielectric rod in a waveguide. The method is demonstrated on low and intermediate loss materials. Keywords
