Abstract
A transfer-matrix-based single-mode yield analysis of partly-gain-coupled multiquantum-well DFB lasers, has been carried out. It is shown that even a small gain coupling is crucial in improving laser single-mode yields and gain margins. Calculated results are consistent with experiments. Keywords
