Abstract
This article reviews issues related to physical fitness and information processing capacities of individuals with mental retardation. The role of physical fitness and the ability to use information are related to increasing the functional capabilities of individuals with mental retardation. Research related to improving these capacities, and hence functional skill levels, are also examined.Keywords
