Abstract
Nuclear research emulsions, Ilford K.5, K.2, K.0, K minus 1 and K minus 2 were exposed to 10 MeV/nucleon heavy ion beams consisting of A40, Ne20, O16, N14 and C12 having rates of energy loss in the range 0.35-5.2 MeV/[mu]. All emulsions of a given sensitivity were taken from a single batch and were exposed and processed at one time in order to permit intercomparison between tracks of the different ions in the various emulsions. Photomicrographs of the 5 types of ions in the 5 types of emulsions are presented. Relative merits of the various emulsions are discussed, as well as possible applications to heavy ion charged particle dosimetry. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
