Abstract
Eighty‐two cases of hyperemesis gravidarum managed in a regional hospital in Hong Kong were reviewed. In contrast to the literature, the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in the Chinese population fall within the range reported in the European countries. Most of the women were nulliparous, and women who had 2 or more successful pregnancies seldom have this condition. The possible role of human chorionic gonadotrophin in hyperemesis gravidarum is discussed. Keywords
