Abstract
The methods and techniques used in the Traralgon Health and Illness Survey are presented in detail and compared with a number of other Australian health surveys. The importance of methodology in relation to the results of health and illness surveys is discussed using some results from Australian surveys as examples to provide further evidence of the slowly emerging picture of health and illness in Australia. Keywords
