Abstract
Metaphosphate is extracted with use of 5% CCl3COOH from the yeast cells cultivated in a synthetic medium. This metaphosphate preparation is hydrolyzed at pH 5.0 by an enzyme purified from rice brain by fractional precipitations with acetone. In this reaction the heat of hydrolysis ([DELTA] H) is 9700[plus or minus]500 cal./P-O-P bond at pH 5.0 by use of a modified Ohlmeyer''s isothermal constant flow microcalorimeter. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
