Abstract
IN REPORTING RESULTS of his medical research and treatment of mongolism,1Turkel of Detroit summarized his results as follows: It was intended to bring the Mongoloid to a physical condition as nearly normal as possible using medication to favorably alter the inborn structural anomalies, something heretofore considered impossible. X-rays and photographs have demonstrated that it is possible when the "U" series of drugs are used. This first breakthrough in the medical treatment of mongoloids should now stimulate physicians to improve the treatment. In reporting the results of treatment of 60 patients with the "U" series of drugs to the Section of Medical Science at the Annual Meeting of the New Jersey Academy of Science on April 7, 1962, Turkel stated: Mongoloids and other types of physically and mentally retarded individuals can be brought to near-normalcy by the "U" series of drugs in a treatment which the physician can manage from his office while the patient remains at home. Keywords
