Abstract
Generalized decision feedback equalization (GDFE) enables canonical transmission on channels with intersymbol interference and Gaussian noise. There are several special cases of the GDFE, two of which are reviewed: vector-coding (VC) and packet decision feedback. Under special circumstances described, the packet DFE reduces to the well-known DFE as the delay and packet length go to infinity. Under the well-known situation where cyclic-prefixed packet transmission is used, VC reduces to the ADSL standard transmission method known as DMT.Keywords
