Abstract
To take quantitative samples of the bottom materials on the sloping concrete sides of a reservoir down to 5m, plates of asbestos-cement composition 0.125m2 were laid down until they had assumed the condition of their surroundings. They were secured by a retrieving wire to a line laid out on the water and were lifted without loss of benthic materials by dropping a cover, fitted to flap-valves, down the wire. The apparatus and 2 freshly lifted plates are illustrated. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
