Abstract
The isotopic spin impurity introduced into nuclear states by the Coulomb interaction is calculated with -coupling shell-model wave functions. Upper limits on the impurity present in nuclei for are given and shown to be in agreement with the experimental work of Wilkinson on the isotopic spin selection rule for transitions.
