Abstract
Electronics equations which can be used to analyze the type of signals involved in class C amplifiers and oscillators are completely worked out. There are four possible modes of operation in a space-charge-limited diode, when a pulsive voltage is applied to it. The mode of operation for a fixed wave form of the signal depends upon one normalization constant which is in direct proportion to the magnitude of the voltage and in inverse proportion to the square of the product of the dimension of the tube and the frequency. The method for calculating the performance of the conventional power tube at high frequencies is given and the ultimate limit of the tube is indicated.
