Abstract
The anions Mn(NCS)4 2-, Mn(NCS)6 4-, Mn(NCSe)4 2-, Mn(NCSe)6 4-, Mn(N3)4 2-, V(NCS)6 3-, V(NCSe)6 3-, V(N3)6 3-, VO(NCS)5 3-, VO(NCSe)4 2-, VO(N3)4 2- , and In(NCS)6 3- have been prepared and crystallized with large organic cations. The complexes are characterized by elementary analyses, diffuse reflectance spectra in the visible and ultraviolet region, and by infrared spectroscopy. Ligand field and charge transfer bands of electronic transitions are interpreted by usual theoretical procedures. The parameters of semiempirical theories are calculated. From the charge transfer spectra the values ϰ(MnII)=1.9; ϰ(VIII)=1.8; ϰ(VO2+) =1.5; ϰ(InIII) =1.2 are determined for the optical orbital energy parameters. Keywords
