SPIN TRAPPING STUDY ON THE GENERATION MECHANISM OF ACTIVE OXYGEN RADICALS IN THE ENZYMATIC REDUCTION OF QUINOID ANTITUMOR AGENTS

Abstract
Generation of O2 from enzymatic reduction of purified aclacinomycin A with cytochrome P-450 reductase and NADPH in the presence of O2 was demonstrated by spin trapping method in phosphate buffer. Addition of Fe3+ ion into the above system led to the detection of both O2 and ·OH spin adducts.
