Pressure Dependence of l-Leucine-p-nitroanilide Hydrolysis by Leucine Aminopeptidase

Abstract
The effect of pressure on the hydrolysis of l-leucine-p-nitroanilide catalyzed by leucine aminopeptidase from pig kidney was investigated. The activation volumes for kcat process were −8 cm3/mol and −9 cm3/mol for the native enzyme and the modulated one by Mg2+, respectively. The volume changes for the Km process were \simeq0 cm3/mol for both enzymes.
