Abstract
Manipula-tion of the home cage environment early in life, whether by restriction or enrichment, affected rat''s heart rate (HR) responsivity to white noise but not "basal" rate at the age of 200-210 days. Ss exposed to the differential environment when 45-65 days of age showed significantly smaller decrements in HR than Ss exposed when 24-44 days of age. Keywords
