Abstract
Ss were rested alone in setting the maximum electric shock they could tolerate and in another situation in which a partner apparently shared the shock. It was found that shock tolerance was significantly higher in the situation involving a partner and it was concluded that "the perceived sharing of stress contributes importantly to stress tolerance.".Keywords
