Abstract
Monolayer cultures of epithelial as well as stromal components of the rat ventral prostate were established, taking advantage of differences in the requirement of sera supplementation and also in the temporal span for attachment. These monolayers were characterized and used to identify the cellular source of prostatic inhibin. The spent medium obtained from epithelial cell monolayer alone had significant inhibin-like activity. Keywords
