Abstract
A review is presented to show the historical development of measuring techniques and the need for practical equipment and methods to test rubber insulated cables. A new concept for equipment design is presented together with descriptions of recently developed commercial testing units suitable for such application. Design of new and novel terminal and electrode apparatus is also discussed. The use of this apparatus for investigation of rubber insulated cables is described, together with data obtained from laboratory and production tests. Keywords
