Abstract
Three pig-tailed macaques (M. nemestrina) from a nursery population were predicted to be genetically abnormal on the basis of observations of anatomical and behavioral development. All 3 exhibited delays in skeletal, visual, intellectual and social development, suggesting a chromosomal syndrome. Karyotypes showed that 2 animals were XXX females and the 3rd was a mosaic XX/XXX female.
