Abstract
A new specific antigen-antibody precipitation technique, the "microspot" test, detected the antibody arising spontaneously in auto-immune thyroiditis. The technique can detect low levels of both the auto-immune antibody and the antigen against which it is directed. It is suggested that the technique could usefully be extended to the study of other proven or suspected auto-immune conditions. Keywords
